There is something.... or should I say Someone, with a name that is known and another name that is not known yet. Our imaginations can't even begin to conceive of his majesty and awesomeness. We simply cannot hold it all in our minds. Although He is from before ancient time (even before time existed), He will be forever and never, ever become obsolete. His splendor will be displayed to us infinitely new throughout all eternity.

This One will overrun our imaginations. Indeed He has conquered evil, death, and sin. He has set in motion the birth of His new Creation. All of humanity is invited to join in, to believe, to hope, to work, to participate. He himself has redeemed and reconciled us so that we can respond to his great invitation to do so.

He told Moses His Name - I AM
He came and personally told the world who He is - I AM

While I am excited about seeing Apple's announcement today and maybe getting my hands on whatever iItIsCalled, I am deeply more excited about our unimaginable I AM. He is the One who is truly amazing!

Last week or so, I started on a new song and while it is not settled yet, my understanding is getting stretched a bit by the concept. Central to the song is that Jesus' work reigns over anything and everything. Nothing about us can't be reconciled to God by Jesus' work. His work of the cross and His resurrection subjugate sin and death. Jesus is supreme over all - Col 1:15-23. My foundation in healing prayer is that Jesus is supreme over sickness and infirmity. They are subjugated to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Sickness and infirmity are also then subjugated to Christ in us.

This song also hints at the Paschal Mystery. As we remember and ponder the Passion of Christ, we take in the healing and resurrection. We take it into our own bodies. The power of Christ's work in us, revealing the glory of God. From the moment we receive the Gospel, we are given new life - one that starts when we receive Him as Lord and Savior, and continues into eternity, forever, with God. Hallelujah, Jesus. Your blood reigns over us.

As I write, I am listening to my son play beautiful music from the couch beside me and I can hear a part of my legacy to him. We pass a bit of who we are, the harvest of our lives, onto our sons and daughters. They will pass on our legacy to their sons and daughters, and so it goes on and on.

Walking through the time of Advent, where we long for the baby Messiah, Jesus Christ, to come anew to us, I can see how God has passed on a legacy to us. A legacy born of receiving light from Him, as He is born anew in us each Christmas, and then becoming light that shines into the darkness. As we move towards Christ-likeness, we reveal the legacy we've received from God as light-bearers into His Creation. This is the legacy we've received and the holy legacy we pass on to our sons and daughters.

Jesus, please come to us this day. Shine your light into us and set us ablaze for you.
